The Role
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you’ll be responsible for generating new business and cross-sell opportunities by prospecting and qualifying leads. As the first point of contact for potential clients, you’ll introduce them to our products and services while collaborating with the sales team to convert leads into customers. This role is ideal for results-driven individuals who enjoy engaging with people and are eager to grow within the tech sales industry. You’ll identify and generate sales opportunities through outbound calling and outreach. The right candidate thrives under pressure, thinks creatively, initiates engaging and informative two-way conversations with prospects, and is highly self-motivated.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Development
• Generate new pipeline through inbound and outbound prospecting.
• Research and identify potential customers within the target market.
• Conduct outbound prospecting via cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other communication channels.
• Qualify leads through effective discovery calls and initial conversations.
• Schedule meetings and product demos for the sales team.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to optimize lead-generation strategies.
• Consistently achieve required sales activity metrics and targets (calls, talk time, research, emails).
• Identify, engage, and interact with senior-level decision-makers to uncover new and emerging business opportunities.
• Book qualified discovery calls for New Business Representatives and Account Managers.
• Clearly communicate Causeway’s product value propositions to prospects and learn about their needs to determine fit.
• Identify prospective customers’ pain points.
• Research and analyze the industry to identify potential customers and opportunities for targeted sales campaigns.
• Leverage social media to promote awareness and interest in products and work with sales and marketing teams to produce campaigns that generate new leads.
• Develop a strong understanding of the target market, competitor information, segmentation, positioning, executive contacts, and market developments to maximize opportunities.
• Be familiar with go-to-market plans and lead scoring, ensuring timely engagement during the nurturing process.
• Ensure consistent pipeline growth through careful planning and execution of campaign calendars.
• Stay informed about the industry by reading, watching videos, listening to podcasts, and collaborating with internal colleagues to prepare for knowledgeable, credible, and transparent conversations with prospects.
• Build effective relationships with new and prospective customers, managing them through the qualification process until it’s appropriate to book an appointment.
Data Management
• Ensure proactive and timely updates to opportunity progress in the CRM system so the business has access to accurate, real-time reports and forecasts.
• Perform data cleansing activities to provide accurate information and support marketing campaigns, increasing new business opportunities.
• Conduct data-building activities to provide accurate information and support calling campaigns.
Qualifications and Skills
• Positive attitude and ability to handle rejection.
• Self-motivated, persistent, and able to work independently.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.
• Desire to continually improve your sales skills.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable with digital tools.
• Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent education preferred.
Desirable Skills
• Previous telesales or telemarketing experience would be an advantage.
• Previous experience with CRM systems would be an advantage.
